Annual Events

Buttonwillow has many annual community events throughout the year. The Chamber sponsors two annual events. The Mayor’s Race is our main fundraiser and involves a variety of activities. It begins in late January and culminates in March with our annual installation dinner and the election of our Honorary Mayor. This unique Buttonwillow tradition is over 50 years old. The Fall Farm Festival is held annually (the 2nd or 3rd Saturday of September) and celebrates the upcoming harvest of the many agricultural crops and related businesses in our area. There is a parade and festival activities at the park. The Buttonwillow Lions Club Reverse Drawing & Dinner is held annually in May. The Buttonwillow Recreation & Park District hosts many seasonal or holiday events. Their annual Christmas Tree Lighting is on the first Friday of December where local artisans display their crafts or baked goods and Santa greets the children of all ages after enjoying game & food booths. Buttonwillow School students participate each year with their annual canned food drive and winter programs in December.
